The Best Table of Contents (TOC) or Sitemap for Blogger

Many blogger want to make sitemap or Table of contents for their blog in blogger engine. Some of them only index of their posts by only show title of blog or make it manual by type the title every posts. Here some example of simple table of content (Manual Input) :
Amanda just post How to create a sitemap with Google Feed control, her idea is good she want to categorized the post but using google feed and have to input label feed one by one.
But I like her blog she provide many tutorial for blogger, every blogger have to know and read bloggerbuster
Beautiful Beta make javascript and used json from blogger call blogtoc widget. Many blogger try and modifed of his script but only change a little bit thing. Here some example what they change :
- Change position of TOC to the post, first time Beautiful Beta show his TOC in every post using javascript button in sidebar (I forgat the way how to use)
- Only change the language, this method can be found from Indonesian blogger they only change the language nothing to change inside.
- Give CSS for the table, only change the color and other thing.
Actually I used his javascript but I modified to become sitemap view not table anymore, and categorized the post.
Featured of My Script :
- Easy to use, only two line script.
- Categorized by Label.
- Can use for Multiple label in every posts.
- Give “New !!” Text for 10 latest posts.
How to use my script is very easy only input this two line to the post in “HTML” Mode

This is a wonderful script! It works perfectly. I will be using it on my site map and putting a link back to you on my Credits page, when I get my blog up (not yet).
I have another need for my blog. I need a Featured Posts widget that filters by more than one label in Blogger (usually just two at a time), with alphabetical sort by title and the ability to display in a post, not a sidebar.
Your TOC script already does nearly everything I need. For example, if I edit the script source as below to add two labels to the feed:
The script brings back only posts that match both of the labels. But, because it is a TOC script, it prints the same set of labels twice — once under LABEL1 and once under LABEL2.
Can you advise me if it is possible to modify your script to eliminate duplicates and only print one set of links that match both labels?
If you do not have time, no problem. Thanks again for such amazing work.

Very good your script congratulations. But I tried to add to my blo in Blogger and the script worked properly in Firefox but in Internet Explorer 8 and caught or run the script. I have something around 415 posts in the blog, was it to be many threads that lock?

I try using firefox and IE it can use, and my friend using arabic character can use also, so I thing no problem.
For less than 500 posts can show using this script. For more than 500 after my study finish I’ll release new script.
In your script, I noticed that there is a variable called postMp3, and a link to download MP3, and I didn’t understand them in the code. May you explain that?
Other thing, is it possible to change the code for someone to choose which labels he wants to show??
Actually that for Podcast, I used this script long time before i released in here. I used for other blog that provide podcast mp3 in post

It would be interesting if we could choose which labels we want to show in table of contents. I have many labels in my blog and many post links appear in most of them.

i tried adding this to my html on blogger, but i’m getting the following error.
XML error message: The reference to entity “callback” must end with the ‘;’ delimiter.
and the same issue with “alt”
Don’t put in your template, but in your post.
I thought I am supposed to add it to the Edit HTML page for my whole blog?

Organize posts by labels is really useful , but if you have a idea about organize them by dates (months just like archives ) will be great .

That was not because the script but from your template. In your template have list style none.
i have set the list-style: none;
but still no effect…
actually I only give you clue to fixing the problem, not directly do what I said.

Abu, Thanks for publishing the post. I can see that one must include the two lines in each post.
Couple of things are still unclear.
#1 Where in the post would you suggest to include the 2-line script?
#2 How do you invoke a TOC or Categories listing if you want it in a side bar?
1. Put it like you want to post article (HML mode). if you don’t want to show in front page because latest article, you can chang the post date.
2. If in sidebar only ad gadget and use that script directly, but its better don’t use at sidebar if you have so many articles, it will make slow your blog slow to load.

The challenge in my site is how to integrate 3 languages in one page and a multiple label of services. It looks easy, but i don’t want users to “change the page”, in other words, I want everything showed in the index in a user friendly way.
I am wondering if you have a script to “label the labels”…
I want to now example that you want to make script ? maybe I can make.
Actually I have one other hack to separate Category and Tag (like in wordpress) so you can add many Tag/Label to your post but the TOC will categorized by category (not so many label only special category will show)

ok, maybe that’s can work, because I never check my blogger in google webmaster anymore.
When you submit the sitemap to google webmaster you have to check how many your posts already, if less than maximum feed, google will be crawl directly. One important thing is “Archive” at sidebar is to make it easy google crawl all posts. In your blog you already list all your post at sidebar, so google easy to crawl.

That’s method only show all post in 100 range not make sitemap, please read my explanation until finish, and you can make Sitemap for your blog easily.
