saya juga memakai localhost utk belajar wordpress, pake xampp jg..
berhsil install dan bisa jalan, tapi nyoba template smell like facebook-nya ainun nazieb (http://nazieb.com) ada error pada script (?) header..
mohon solusi..
(oya, karena ngebet pengen pake template yg mirip facebook, sekarang saya pake hasil modifikasi mas farhan)

biasanya sih kesalahan karena ada program lain yg memakai port 80 seperti skype, team viewer atau Yahoo messenger setelah kirim file.
Sebenarnya bagus juga idenya pake localhost untuk bikin draft dan belajar2, kalau dah ok bisa di import filenya ke wordpress yg Onlinenya
